Aircraft Performance and Navigation

This is a specialist Aerospace Engineering module where you'll learn how to calculate the performance of an aircraft in straight flight, level flight and during manoeuvres. You'll get the chance to design aircraft that minimise fuel consumption and are stable to fly. You'll also learn about the navigation systems on board typical aircraft as well.

As part of this module there will be a flight test engineering course in a small aircraft, or equivalent simulator activity. You'll see how these principles are demonstrated, and learn how to take experimental measurements of an aircraft performance in a flight test situation.
