Mechanical Engineering

Module code: EG1101

How do solid materials and fluids behave under the application of forces and temperature?

This is the basic physics of mechanical and aerospace engineering. In this module, you'll learn how simple structures respond when forces are applied and how we ensure they don’t break! The fluid dynamics and thermodynamics part of the module will allow you to calculate how the properties and flow of liquids and gases are changed by solid objects and temperature. This the knowledge needed to produce engineering products as varied as aircraft wings, car engines and power stations.
