Introduction to Research Methods in Education is a second core module in the programme which you must complete before proceeding to the pathway modules. In this module, you will gain enhanced knowledge of a range of methodologies and data gathering techniques used in a variety of research contexts. You will explore the main paradigms in educational research and learn the strengths and weaknesses of methodologies and the appropriateness of their use in different research contexts. You will also gain competence in developing and using key data gathering techniques and apply the basic principles of data coding, analysis and interpretation. You will be able to create a research design and apply appropriate research methods.
