Our exposure to crime –whether direct or indirect- and coverage from social media, television and newspapers has led to a heightened perception of deviance and fear in contemporary society. This module aims to explore the social and political influences on fear of crime, and the impact this fear has on victims/potential victims of crime and on policing and criminal justice policy.
