About the Partnership 合作关系
The Leicester International Institute was established on 24th March 2017 as a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution (CEI) with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is a strategic partnership between Dalian University of Technology (DUT) in China and the University of Leicester (UoL) in the United Kingdom.
莱斯特国际学院为中国教育部批准的中外合作办学机构，于2017年3月24日正式成立，由英国莱斯特大学和中国大连理工大学合作共建。
On 5th September 2017, the Institute welcomed its first cohort of 168 students. The Institute’s students were and will be recruited in accordance with the Chinese General Higher Educational Institute Recruitment Plan and ranked among the first level under the Cooperation Agreement and associated Recruitment Plan.
2017年9月5日，莱斯特国际収迎来了第一批学生共计168名。中英学院的招生纳入普通高等学校招生计划，面向本科一批录取。
The Institute currently offers three undergraduate degree programmes in the subject areas of Applied Chemistry (corresponding the Programme of Chemistry at UoL), Mathematics (corresponding the Programme of Mathematics at UoL) and the Process Equipment and Control Engineering Mechanical Engineering (corresponding the Programme of Mechanical Engineering at UoL). Each Programme initially enrolls up to 100 students each year for full-time undergraduate Bachelor degrees. The normal length of study for each Bachelor Programme at the Institute is 3 years to 6 years and the participating students will complete the whole study at DUT under the “4+0” model. The students will have the opportunity, if they wish, to spend time in the UK as part of their undergraduate studies (e.g. via 2+2 or 2+1+1 or 3+1 route), and to undertake further Masters level study at the UoL.
学院目前有三个本科专业，应用化学（对应莱斯特大学化学专业）、数理基础科学（对应莱斯特大学数学专业）、过程装备与控制工程（对应莱斯特大学机械工程专业）。每个专业每年最多招收100名全日制本科生，通过3年至6年，以“4 + 0”的模式在大连理工大学完成全部学业。学生也可根据个人意愿，选择通过“2+2”或“2+1+1“或“3+1”赴莱斯特大学学习，或赴莱斯特大学进一步攻读硕士学位。
The students shall be required to meet the degree granting standards of both universities and shall, upon graduation, be awarded a “Bachelor Degree Certificate" and an “Undergraduate Graduation Diploma” from DUT and a “Bachelor” degree from UoL.
学生需同时满足大连理工大学和莱斯特大学的学位授予标准方可顺利从中英学院毕业。毕业时，学生将获得大连理工大学授予的学士学位证书和毕业证书，以及莱斯特大学授予的学士学位证书。
The Institute’s students are officially registered to DUT and UoL simultaneously. They can enjoy the available access to library, learning and other academic resources via the internet. All the teaching and assessment of the Core Curriculum will be carried out by teachers from both universities with English as the medium of instruction and UoL’s academic materials.
学院学生将同时注册大连理工大学和英国莱斯特大学的双重学籍，享用莱斯特大学的图书馆资源及学习材料。所有专业课程将由来自两校的教师进行全英文授课并使用莱斯特大学的教学材料。
The Institute is located inside of the DUT Panjin Campus. Panjin Campus is situated in Panjin’s New District of Liaodong Bay, a new coastal city in the center of Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone at the north end of Bohai Economic Rim. It is planned to cover an area of 1.357 million square meters with a construction area of 786 thousand square meters. Up to now, an area of 1.043 million square meters with a construction area of 503 thousand square meters has already been built.
莱斯特国际学院坐落于大连理工大学盘锦校区，盘锦校区位于环渤海经济圈北端辽宁沿海经济区中心的新海滨城市盘锦市辽东湾新区。校园规划占地面积135.7万平方米、规划建筑面积78.6万平方米。 目前已建校园占地面积104.3万平方米，已建建筑面积50.3万平方米。
