The Politics of European Integration

Module code: PL7594

This module enables you to understand the relationship between the European Union (EU) and its member states. It starts by looking at the development of the EU and at the differing theoretical perspectives on European integration, as well as the balance of power between the EU and its member states.

You'll then examine a series of EU policies that are crucial for this relationship including economic and monetary union, enlargement and the EU’s justice and home affairs policies. In doing so you'll consider concepts such as multi-level governance, and differentiated integration.
