New Chinese Cinemas

Module code: HA3427

This module aims to develop students’ knowledge of Chinese-language cinema(s). Since the late 1970s Chinese-language cinema has witnessed a number of cinematic movements and developments, including Hong Kong New Wave, New Taiwan Cinema, and the 5th and 6th Generations in mainland China. This module investigates the development of three Chinese cinemas through the analysis of key Chinese filmmakers.
