This module investigates media on a global level and aims to understand how it functions by exploring the way different aspects interlink. You’ll start by identifying the key aspects of global media and communication system, such as the political economy and the working of specific global media events. This will involve discussing the ‘global’ nature of today’s media economy and discovering its components. 

Theoretical sources will be used to criticise the development of this media ecology, and you’ll compare case studies from different industries and appropriations of media texts to build upon your understanding.
