Advanced Topics in Medical Microbiology

Module code: MB3020

This module extends the basic knowledge of Medical Microbiology gained in MB2020 and considers the molecular and cellular mechanisms of infection and host-pathogen interactions. The emphasis is on detailed understanding of the complex interactions between pathogenic microbes and their hosts, behaviours of pathogens in clinical settings, understanding of host responses and approaches to create effective vaccines.
