Microbial Pathogenesis

Module code: BS3014

‘Microbial Pathogenesis’ aims to demonstrate the molecular and genetic basis of strategies employed by microorganisms to invade host tissue, avoid host defence mechanisms and proliferate at sites of infection. This module also emphasises the molecular and cellular approaches used to investigate mechanisms of infection, and by gaining a deeper understanding of these mechanisms, you will have the chance to design a research activity to determine the contributions of a virulence factor or other mechanism to an infectious disease.
