Law at the University of Leicester

At Leicester Law School, we care deeply about equipping our students with the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary to succeed in a career in the legal profession as a solicitor or barrister, or as a highly desirable graduate in a wide range of other elite professions.

Our aim is to challenge and inspire, to explore and discover. In addition to the seven Foundations of Legal Knowledge required for qualification as a lawyer, our law degree gives you the opportunity to study the areas of law that interest you, utilising a variety of approaches in analysing cases, statutes and the role of law within its social, economic and political context.

We also make sure that we put students at the centre of everything that we do. You will be taught in small group tutorials – we believe this is vital in allowing you to develop the ability to think critically, as well as the confidence to discuss and debate your ideas. Our approach to teaching and the student experience means that Leicester Law School has a leading reputation for producing highly employable, professional and successful graduates. Our graduates go on to find success in a wide variety of fields, including the legal profession, marketing, journalism, politics and business.
