EL7500 Academic English for Postgraduate Law Students
This course is for non-native international postgraduate students in the School of Law.
This course has 2 modules. Each module is 8 weeks. You can choose to study one or both modules.

These sessions aim to develop the necessary skills for efficient and effective academic reading, participation in seminars and writing assignments.
Module content
- analyse essay titles
- look at written genres and organisation
- develop your legal and general academic vocabulary
- read and write complex sentences
- discuss key ideas and texts
- proofread your work
- improve your pronunciation and presentation skills
- access independent study resources
Module 2 will focus on assignment feedback and the language and skills required for the dissertation.
