Kritika Anand is a first-year PhD student at the Centre for Environmental Health and Sustainability (CEHS) at the University of Leicester. Her doctoral research, conducted as part of the Biomedical Research Centre Project, focuses on 'Environmental Exposures, Lifestyle, and Cardio-respiratory Diseases: A Multi-exposure Study in the UK.' Through this project, she is investigating the epidemiological links between co-exposure to air pollution, traffic noise, greenspaces, and major cardio-respiratory diseases.
Kritika holds an MPH in Environmental Health from Harvard University, a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Delhi, and an MSc in Environmental Management from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, India. Prior to beginning her PhD, she worked at the Centre for Chronic Disease Control in New Delhi, where her research centred on the impact of air pollution on human health, with a particular focus on non-communicable diseases. Her work also included studying heavy metal and pesticide exposure from unsafe drinking water.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Kritika is an outdoor and fitness enthusiast who enjoys hiking and playing sports. She is also a trained classical dancer with eight years of experience in Kuchipudi, an Indian classical dance form, and has a deep passion for travel.
