Module Outline

In this module you will examine the role of global media events as platforms for the fabrication and transmission of global meaning (icons, norms, ideas, knowledge). Global media events (large-scale conferences, exhibitions and festivals, sport events, catastrophes) are inherently related to the formation of world culture. You will address different narrative strategies, communication practices and forms of mediation and translation in the formation of world culture.
