Employment Relations in the Global Economy

Module code: MN3116

As national economies change over time, so does the employment relationship between workers, employers. This module will allow you to look closer at how economic, social, and political changes impact upon employment relations actors – trade unions, employers and government - and job regulations; and to understand the broader context in which organisational HRM and employment practices are embedded.

We will compare the employment relationship in different national and sectoral contexts and critically discuss how trade unions, employers and governments can create and protect ‘decent jobs’ with workers’ rights.
