Heritage
The University of Leicester is home to two organisations which collaborate with the wider heritage sector to undertake research and consultancy.
University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) is an independent archaeological unit embedded in the School of Archaeology and Ancient History, and undertakes a wide range of commercial and research archaeological projects all over the UK.
The Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (RCMG), part of our School of Museum Studies carries out commissioned research and evaluations, bringing theoretical and empirical rigour to cultural questions concerning the contemporary, historic and future museum.
Our academics in Archaeology, History and Museum Studies undertake research and consultancy work in the following areas:
- Visioning exercises and strategic plans
- Archaeological consultancy
- Public engagement and audience development plans (for Heritage Lottery Fund bids, individual museums and heritage sites)
- Audits of the history and heritage of a particular area
- Heritage interpretation projects (for the redevelopment of buildings and regeneration areas)

Languages and translation
