Practical Translation

In this module you will be taught through a combination of workshops and lectures that will give you ample opportunities to practice translating semi-specialised texts in different fields such as - technical, business and literary. We will explore how factors such as the function of the texts, the target readership and the genre conventions can influence how you choose to translate a text. You will learn through non-assessed formative tasks, including directed reading and translation assignments.
