Advanced Research and Communication Skills

Module code: CH7360

In this module you will draw on your undergraduate research experience to hone your research and communication skills. These skills will be important for your research project and for your future career. 

You will become familiar with using databases to perform in-depth literature searches, develop your scientific writing skills, and practise interactive dissemination approaches through posters and oral presentations. 

An important aspect of this module will be to begin preparations for your research project. You will take an active role in identifying a research project supervisor and planning your research project. 

Finally, this module will challenge you to think and plan for your future career with a particular emphasis on your strengths, weaknesses and training needs. The module incorporates the Leicester Award and Leicester Award Gold schemes run by the Career Development Service.
