Controls on Depositional Systems

This module examines the interaction of key controls, including tectonics, climate, sediment supply, and sea-level fluctuations in developing depositional systems and the architecture of sedimentary successions. Using a number of techniques, including facies analysis, wireline log, and seismic interpretation, as well as concepts from sequence stratigraphy, you will explore and interpret sedimentary successions and learn how to predict prospective hydrocarbon sources, seals, and reservoirs in stratigraphic plays.
