Dynamics and Thermofluids
Module code: EG2112
This module builds on your first year by going into more depth on the movement of rigid bodies and fluids. By studying the energy of these bodies in motion engineers can design mechanisms and ‘heat engines’, this is the basis of all types of engines and components that manage heat in engineering products. This module is really all about energy, especially using it most efficiently. As Engineers, we can use this knowledge to design more efficient products, minimising the environmental impact of human activities. An example from the module is a concept called the Brayton cycle, which will give you the mathematical tools to analyse and design simple gas turbines (jet engines).
