Leadership for Social Justice in Education (Specialist Study)

Building on the first module, this module looks at concepts such as values, constructivism (the concept that learning is an active process) and social learning (where people can learn through observation and imitation) in learning communities. We will examine leadership in different contexts and evaluate the impact it has on learning. With more collaboration between teachers and learning communities, we will explore the reconstruction of the identity of teachers and support staff, as well as that of students. This module incorporates a small-scale training research project to investigate diversity in a school, considers how to carry out small-scale research and prepares you for your summer term dissertation proposal and research project.
