International students

Registering with the Police

The requirement for certain international students to register with the police has now ceased and you are no longer required to register with the police. This change applies to new students arriving in the UK for the first time and those who have already registered with the police.

New students

If you have been issued with a visa with the requirement to register but have not yet travelled, your visa will be reissued where possible or you will be notified of the changes in advance of travel. If you have already travelled with the requirement in place on your visa you do not need to attend a police registration office and if you do you will be advised of the changes.

Continuing/returning students

You are no longer require to communicate any updated personal details to the police and your visa will not be amended. If you apply for further permission the requirement to register will not be part of your new visa conditions.
