Mital Thanki
Spark Academy was founded by Mital Thanki, who realised she had a passion for making positive societal change after she started tutoring whilst studying her undergraduate degree at the University of Leicester. After Mital became a qualified chemistry teacher and gained experience working in schools, she decided to start her own private tutoring business and Spark Academy was born. Over the years, Mital has successfully grown the business and her team is currently delivering tuition to children across the UK through the Spark Learning Platform.
As well as becoming known as an innovator in the private tuition field, Mital has won a suite of awards, including East Midlands Chamber 2020 Entrepreneur of the Year.
Mital has also entered into a business partnership with a top 10 global IT firm with the vision of bringing revolutionary ed-tech solutions into UK schools. In 2020, Mital also completed her distance learning MBA at the University of Leicester and achieved a distinction.
