REF2021 highlight for Psychology and Vision Sciences

We are delighted with our recent performance in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF2021).

REF2021 performance highlight for our research in UoA 4 Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience:

• We ranked 23rd for overall research quality (GPA) out of 93 submissions (REF2021 Times Higher Education rankings);
• 75% of the real-world impact of our research in Neuroscience was judged to be ‘outstanding (4*);
• 100% of our research environment was judged to be ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ (REF2021).

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions, the first took place in 2014, with the latest REF2021 results announced on Thursday 12 May 2022. Find more details on the University’s overall performance.
