Profile

I am an Associate Professor in Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at the School of Business, University of Leicester. Prior to this, I served at the University of Greenwich (UK) and the Central University of Finance and Economics (China). My research, centred on culture and social cognition, has successfully secured several external grants from the Royal Society, National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. I am an Associate Editor for the Journal of Business Research and serve on the editorial boards of various journals.

In terms of leadership roles, I have been the Co-Director of the Management Inquiry Group (MIG), a governance board member of Centre for Research on Employment and Work (CREW), and the Vice Dean of Business School at Central University of Finance and Economics.

Outside of academia, I am a big fan of ParkRun.

 

Research

My research interests are diverse, encompassing culture and social cognition, with a particular focus on 1) the impact of culture on performance and well-being through the provision of autonomy, and 2) the influence of culture on judgment and decision-making processes.

I have secured several external grants from prestigious bodies like the Royal Society and the National Natural Science Foundation. My research has been featured in various media outlets, including Behavioraleconomic, Chinadaily, and the Chinese edition of Businessweek. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have offered managerial consultancy services to companies.
