Profile

I am an Associate Professor at the University of Leicester.

My academic journey began in New Zealand with a BSc and MSc in Physics before qualifying with CIMA and working in commercial analytical roles for multi-national companies in industries including construction, retail, manufacturing, and forestry. These roles brought me to the UK where I rejoined academia in 2009 and completed a PGCertHE, MA, and PhD in Education. I am also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

I am passionate about outreach work and enabling young children from less privileged backgrounds to gain access to higher education.

Research

My current research interests focus on the development of career aspirations in young children and the effectiveness of university-primary school interventions designed to improve them.
