Leicester tops student nightlife league table

A new ‘alternative university league table’ ranks the University of Leicester as number one!

Ticket aggregator site Tickx compiled a list of 53 universities, using non-academic (but important) metrics including monthly rent, pubs per square mile, available Deliveroo options, price of a pint, and the average price of tickets to a club, gig or student event, as well as a sustainability factor.

When all the calculations were complete, the University of Leicester came out top with 307 points, more than twice the score of institutions at the bottom of the table. This means that Leicester is officially the best value university for students who want a night out (or a night in with a takeaway).

Leicester boasted the 12th cheapest pint (£3.42) of all the universities surveyed, the 12th cheapest average rent (£362 per month) and the sixth cheapest gigs with average ticket price of just over £7.
