The Late Antique World

The late antique world is associated with transformations: from the classical to the medieval, from the pagan to the Christian. In this module we will examine the changes and continuities in a world that was losing its Mediterranean focus and gaining its regional identities. We will analyse the political, economic, military, religious and social history of the period using texts, visual material and archaeology.
