Ed Coates

It is with sadness that we learnt the loss of Ed Coates, who worked as a Facilities Assistant within PACS.

Ed had only been a member of the team for a few years, but from his first day he not only brought his willingness to learn his new role, get to know us all and go that extra mile, but he did it with a smile. Ed had a way about him that always made you feel that nothing was too much trouble. He was a huge Leicester City fan; he was a season ticket holder and followed them all over. But Ed’s biggest passion was his family - his beloved partner, children and grandchildren - for whom nothing was a chore and everything a pleasure.

Ed’s loss will be felt greatly within our department and the University as a whole.
