Accommodation

How to apply

Once you have an offer of a place on one of our postgraduate courses, you can apply for accommodation using our online application system. If it is your first year studying at the University of Leicester and you apply before 1 September you are guaranteed an offer of University-managed accommodation.

You can apply using our online application system. Click 'Search Accommodation' in the top right hand corner.

  • If you are taking a Masters degree, select 'Postgraduate' and choose the postgraduate student type that applies to you.
  • If you're taking an English language course, select 'ELTU & Study Skills' and then select the relevant contract depending on your course and the academic year you're studying in.

To create an account, you will need your University of Leicester ID number - the 9-digit number included with your offer letter. If you do not have a student ID, contact the Admissions Office.

If your offer is conditional and you fail to meet the conditions, your early rent payment will not be refunded.

Summer vacations

Accommodation contracts run for one academic year of 42 or 44 weeks, which includes the Christmas and Easter vacations. If you require University accommodation during the summer vacation before or after your course, this will cost extra and may require you to move into a different room (although we will do our best to to avoid this).

If you need accommodation for a full calendar year, that will stretch across two academic years so you will need to book three periods: before, during and after the summer vacation. These may be in different rooms.

Absence for research

If your degree requires you to be absent from Leicester for a period of time (for example, a field course or research commitment) there will be no reduction in your accommodation fee.

If you have any questions about how to apply please contact accommodation@le.ac.uk.
