Nicholas Parsons (1923-2020)
The University is, like the rest of the country, sad to hear of the death of broadcaster Nicholas Parsons.
In July 2016, Nicholas came to Leicester to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Laws. He was already 92 and yet showed little sign of age, keeping the graduation ceremony chuckling with his repartee.
Nicholas was a supporter and friend of Leicester Comedy Festival, who presented him with a Legend of Comedy award in 2018. He also supported Leicester City FC!
