National Grid Design and Operation

Module code: EG3221

During this specialist module you'll learn how electrical power is generated, transmitted across high voltage electricity grids and distributed to customers. The module topics cover the theory and operation of traditional AC power grids, and the trends towards new power system architectures based on high voltage DC transmission.  Increased renewable energy, more distributed generation and the need to investigate faults, are topical challenges in this field.
