Graduation

Graduation documents

Immediately after the ceremony, while you are still in De Montfort Hall, you will be given your graduation documents: your actual degree certificate and transcript (if applicable). Look after them - there is a charge to replace them. If you do need to replace your documents, you can do so via the University shop.

If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony, we will post your documents to you. You cannot send someone else to collect them.

Documents by post

We will send your documents to the address that you gave us when you completed Graduation registration on MyStudentRecord so make sure that is correct and up to date.

If you are subsequently not available at that address to receive your documents, we cannot issue another. You will need to wait until your postal service returns the documents to us, at which point we will arrange for it be be posted to your new address.

Documents are sent via Royal Mail Signed For (or Royal Mail International Signed For). Once they have been posted you will be emailed a tracking number which you can use to track your delivery online. We post documents approximately two weeks after the ceremonies.

If you would prefer to have your documents sent via DHL, you can purchase this through the University shop.

Please note that we cannot send your documents to you if you have deferred your graduation or if you still owe part of your tuition fee.

Collection

You can collect your graduation documents from the University. You can indicate if you want to collect your documents when completing Graduation registration. If you want to request this after registration has closed then you will need to email graduation@le.ac.uk to request this.

Graduation documents will be made available approximately two weeks after the ceremonies and you will be emailed once they are ready to collect from the David Wilson Library on campus.

Please remember to bring some photo ID with you so that we can verify your identity (such as your passport or driving licence).

Please note that you will only be able to collect your own documents. We cannot allow students to collect documents for their relatives or friends, nor can another person collect your documents on your behalf.

HEAR

On most undergraduate degrees you will also receive a HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report) which provides a single comprehensive record of your achievement of your time at the University. This includes academic work, prizes and employability awards. This is a digital transcript - we will send you a link after your graduation ceremony.
