Animal welfare

As an animal research facility, we are legally responsible to adhere to measures set out by the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA). Whilst adhering to these measures, we also seek to ensure the highest possible standard of welfare for the animals used in our research and experiments.

Our 3Rs of reduction, refinement and replacement and our Culture of Care ethos are some of the ways in which we are striving to keep our moral and ethical responsibility to the animals used.

Environmental enrichment

We are committed to ensuring our moral and ethical responsibility to the animals used in our research. This includes making sure their surroundings are as enriched as possible.
