What we’re doing (University activity)

Operational

All fish served on campus through the Leicester Services Partnership, including all outlets on campus, is sustainably sourced and Marine Conservation Society approved.

Teaching

During A Field Guide to Evolution (BS2078) students learn to formulate and test hypothesis and prepare and deliver oral and written reports for ecological phenomena including biodiversity.

Research

University of Leicester scientists are joining a unique expedition off the coast of Hawaii to collect samples of fossilised coral reef from the seabed, to gain insight into half a million years’ worth of environmental change. A look back at environmental change throughout geologic history can tell us a lot about the future – especially when it comes to globally and societally important topics such as sea level, climate change and coral reef ecosystem health.
