Teaching
1 module has intended learning outcomes directly relating to this goal, and 152 students have the opportunity to choose these modules.

What we’re doing
Operational
The University attaches the greatest importance to the health, safety and welfare of staff, students, contractors and visitors and as such ensures that operational practices are compliant and non-notional, this includes the University Water Safety Plan.
Teaching
Students on the (GY3435) Water Quality Processes and Management module in Geography learn how to monitor and control water quality, identifying water pollution and understand the different standards for ecological quality of water in different areas.
Research
Researchers from the University in the journal Science of the Total Environment called for urgent improvements to water quality in many rivers and streams finding that despite some claims to the contrary, water quality is ‘unacceptably poor’ in multiple areas across the UK.
