Exam and assessment support
The Library is here to support you throughout the exam and assessment period. Below is outlined some of the support the Library has put in place for this busy period, alongside some information from other University teams that you may find helpful.
24/7 opening
The David Wilson Library is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Staffed services are available Monday to Friday 8.00am to 9.00pm, Saturday and Sunday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Study spaces on campus
Silent and quiet spaces for individual study are available in the David Wilson Library.
Group spaces and bookable group study rooms can be found in the David Wilson Library with additional bookable rooms in Freeman's Common's Cottages. Bookable spaces for individual study are available on the Mezzanine of the Charles Wilson building.
There are also a variety of drop-in study spaces across campus in Brookfield, the Charles Wilson building, Percy Gee and other University buildings.
Text and Tell us
If you notice an issue in the Library building, such as a broken door handle or a drinks spill, or are being disturbed by noise in a Silent Zone you can text us at 0116 347 0605 during our staffed hours or speak to a member of staff at the Information Hub on the Ground Floor.
The Centre for Academic Achievement
The Centre for Academic Achievement produces a wide range of short self-study guides to support you to succeed in your studies. Our guides are based on questions we're often asked, and cover topics such as note taking, time management, exam preparation and referencing.
Students' Union de-stress 2024
The Students' Union will be running a range of activities between 6 May and 24 May and have put together some de-stress top tips and resources for looking after your wellbeing during the exam period.
Fruit, biscuits, and wellbeing materials will be available from the Students' Union stall in the Exhibition Zone on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the exam period.
Latte with librarians
Join members of the Library team for a chat and study skills advice in the Information Hub, Ground Floor of the David Wilson Library from 11.00am to 1.00pm on Wednesday 8 May.
Reading Lounge
The Reading Lounge is located on the ground floor of the Library, next to the Rhoda Bennett Reading Room, and provides a space where you can read, relax and rest.

Alternative exam arrangements
If you have a disability or long-term condition and would require any alternative exam arrangements because of this, please speak to the AccessAbility Centre, as they will be able to advise further.
