How to get to the University of Leicester

Find out how to get to Leicester by car, coach and train.

If you arrive by train

If you arrive by train, some of our student ambassadors will be on hand to greet you at Leicester station and offer directions to the University between 8.00am and 10.00am. The University is a 10-15 minute walk from the station, although you may wish to catch the number 80 or 48 bus or take a short taxi ride (costing approximately £5).

If you arrive by car

On Saturdays a good number of free spaces will be available at our car park at Freemen’s Common on Welford Road (LE2 6BF).

On Wednesday 14 February, there will be limited parking available on campus on a first come, first served basis (plus disabled parking). See where else you can park nearby in the city.

Visitors with disabilities or mobility difficulties should contact study@leicester.ac.uk to arrange parking on campus.
