Overview

Applications are invited for the newly established Eileen Cowan PhD Studentship to be taken up within the College of Life Sciences at the University of Leicester. 

What’s included

The funding will cover a stipend paid direct to the student for up to 4 years (at the UKRI rate) and full tuition fees for 3.5 years. The studentship will only cover fees at the home student rate and therefore, for academic year 2021/2 start, both home and EU students can apply. 

A total research training support grant (RTSG) of up to £15,000 will be provided to cover the student’s research costs, this funding is held in the department for the student and supervisory team to access.

Studentship applicants are invited to choose one of the PhD projects listed below to include in their application. Applicants will be short-listed based on academic excellence and experience, and the best student will be selected following an interview process, which will take place via Teams.

Applicants are required to hold/or expect to obtain a UK Bachelor Degree 2:1 or better in a relevant subject.

The University of Leicester English language requirements apply where applicable.
