Minor in Human Resource Management

If you choose a Minor in Human Resource Management (HRM) you will study the main issues surrounding the management of people in organisations. You will learn about contemporary issues of work, employment and industrial relations that are embedded in the broader context of a global economy.

Year 1

In your first year you will study the nature of the employment relationship in the contemporary workplace, and the nature of work as it is affected by the wider social context.

Year 2

In your second year you will study the basics of human resource management and its key underlying theoretical approaches in your first semester. You will explore the specific human resource management area of workplace learning, training and development in depth.

Year 3

In your final year you will study the nature of industrial relations in a changing economy, as well as the nature of the contemporary labour market.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this minor.

    Now choose your Major

    On a Major/Minor degree, 25% of your course will be your Minor (in this case Human Resource Management) and 75% will be your Major.

    Restrictions

    Please note that you cannot study a Minor in Human Resource Management with a Major in:

    • Human Resource Management
    • Management Studies
