If you have applied for two courses in the Department of the History of Art and Film, you only need to attend one visit date. If you are unable to attend any of these dates please email email@example.com
How to Book
You will need to log in to our MyStudentRecord system to book your visit day. If you have not already signed up for a MyStudentRecord account, you will need to click on the ‘New User’ button and follow the on-screen instructions to create your password.
If you already have a MyStudentRecord account, you will need to log in using your username and password. Your username is your University of Leicester ID number which you will find on your visit day invite email, on your offer letter or on your application acknowledgement email.
Once you have logged into MyStudentRecord you will need to click on the My Applications tab to book your visit day.
Amending Your Booking
If you already have a booking and you need to change the information you submitted, change the date or you wish to cancel your booking please log back in to MyStudentRecord and click on the My Applications tab.
If you have already booked your place please visit our travel information page for details on how to get to the University by car and by public transport.
Please register at 'The Square' in the Students' Union (campus map) and collect your programme for the day. (If you arrive after 10.00am, you should still go to 'The Square'.)
10.00am Welcome to the University of Leicester talk
A short DVD presentation introducing the University and a talk on student life at Leicester from one of our current students.
10.45am Campus Tour
Our Student Ambassadors will take you around the main campus. Make sure they show you the dinosaur!
11.30am Accommodation Tour
You will have the option (subject to availability) to see the social facilities and visit a typical student’s room in either Oadby Student Village, where most of our undergraduates live in their first year, or at our City Living accommodation at Nixon Court and Freemen’s Common Houses. Pick up your ticket during the morning registration or ask an ambassador on the day for more details.
Back on campus, choose from a range of eat-in or takeaway outlets on campus (on 9 March) or enjoy lunch provided by the department (on 23 March)
2.00pm Department Session
The Department session will give you an opportunity to learn more about the individual modules available to you, whether as part of a joint or single honours, major or minor degree. We will talk about assessment methods, and tell you about the research specialisms of the department and of film staff in other departments. You will also be able to speak to current students and ask questions about their experiences, as well as being able to raise any other points, either within the group or privately, with a member of the admissions team.
3.00pm Visit Day ends
Applied for a Major/Minor degree? A stall with information about our Pathways programme will be in the Students’ Union* on each UCAS Visit Day between 12.15pm and 2.00pm. (*On 23 March it will be in the Fielding Johnson Building.)
