UCAS Visit Day - 18 March 2017
Please arrive and register in the 'Union Square' in the Students’ Union Percy Gee Building. If you arrive after the Registration period, please make your way in the first instance to the 'Union Square' in the Students’ Union Percy Gee Building.
10.00am ‘Welcome to the University of Leicester’ Talk
This will include a short presentation introducing the University of Leicester.
10.15am Visit to Oadby Student Village Accommodation
This visit will take you to the main Halls of Residence at the Oadby Student Village, a 15-minute bus ride from the main campus, and you will be able to view the social facilities and a typical student room. There is also a drop-in talk on student life taking place which you may wish to attend. The trip lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
11.45am Campus Tour OR Tour of City Living accommodation
You will be given the choice of either a tour of the main campus or a walking tour to see the City Living student accommodation. Both tours are given by our Student Ambassadors.
Back on campus, a buffet lunch will be provided. This will be a great opportunity to meet current students and staff, ask questions and find out more about the course and studying/living in Leicester.
1.30pm Subject Talk – Peter Williams Lecture Theatre, Fielding Johnson Building
This session will include a presentation on studying English at Leicester and an opportunity to find out about the various modules and special subjects options on offer throughout the course of your studies.
2.00pm Taster Workshop
Dr Jonathan Taylor, 'Writing Horror'.
2.30pm Tea and Coffee
An opportunity to chat with staff from English and current students in the Ogden Lewis Seminar Suite
Applicants: Seminar session (Ogden Lewis Seminar Suite)
Parents: Tour of the library with current students (starts from Ogden Lewis Seminar Suite)
3.30pm End of visit
A member of staff will be available after the seminar in case you have further questions.
