UCAS Visit Day - 25 February 2017
Course: Ancient History and History BA
9.15am - Registration
Please arrive and register in the 'Union Square' in the Students’ Union Percy Gee Building. If you arrive after the Registration period, please make your way in the first instance to the 'Union Square' in the Students’ Union Percy Gee Building.
10.00am Option: Campus Tour or City Living accommodation tour
You will be given the choice of either a tour of the main campus or a walking tour to see the City Living student accommodation at Nixon Court and Freemen’s Common. Both tours are delivered by our Student Ambassadors and depart from the 'Union Square' in the Students' Union Percy Gee Building.
10.45am Welcome talk: 'Ancient History and History at the University of Leicester'

11.00am Lecture: 'How the Anglo-Saxons can help us counter the modern flood threat'

11.30am Tea/coffee and chat with current students and staff

12.00pm Lecture: 'Disease and Death in Ancient Greece',
Dr Janie Masséglia, Ancient History (room tbc)
You will be able to purchase lunch from a number of outlets, including the Students’ Union, Starbucks and the David Wilson Library Café.
1.15pm Oadby Student Village Accommodation Tour
You will be taken by coach to Oadby Student Village to see the social facilities and visit a typical student’s room. During the tour of the site, you will also have the option to drop in on a Student Life talk delivered by one of our current Student Ambassadors. The tour lasts approx. 1 ½ hours and involves some walking around the site.
2.45pm Plenary session
This will include a short presentation about the University of Leicester and give staff the opportunity to thank you for visiting.
3.00pm Coaches from Oadby Student Village back to main campus
3.30pm End of event
