Archaeology and Ancient History will hold UCAS Visit Days on these dates for applicants who have received an offer to start at Leicester in 2017.

BA in Archaeology and Ancient History; BA in Archaeology; BA in History and Archaeology:

  • Wednesday 22 February 2017
  • Saturday 18 March 2017

BA in Ancient History and History:

  • Wednesday 15 February 2017
  • Saturday 25 February 2017

How to Book

You will need to log in to our MyStudentRecord system to book your visit day. If you have not already signed up for a MyStudentRecord account, you will need to click on the ‘New User’ button and follow the on-screen instructions to create your password.

If you already have a MyStudentRecord account, you will need to log in using your username and password. Your username is your University of Leicester ID number which you will find on your visit day invite email, on your offer letter or on your application acknowledgement email.

Once you have logged into MyStudentRecord you will need to click on the My Applications tab to book your visit day.

Amending Your Booking

If you already have a booking and you need to change the information you submitted, change the date or you wish to cancel your booking please log back in to MyStudentRecord and click on the My Applications tab.

If you have already booked your place please visit our travel information page for details on how to get to the University by car and by public transport.

Programme

Wednesday 22 February 2017, Saturday 18 March 2017 and Wednesday 15 February 2017 only: 

9.15am Registration
Please register in the Queen’s Hall in the Students' Union (campus map) and collect your programme for the day. (If you arrive after 10.00am, please go to 'The Square' in the Students’ Union.)

10.00am Welcome to the University of Leicester
This will include a short presentation introducing the University of Leicester.

10.15am Campus Tour OR Tour of City Living accommodation

You will be given the choice of either a tour of the main campus or a walking tour to see the City Living student accommodation. Both tours are given by our Student Ambassadors.

11.00am Visit to Oadby Student Village accommodation
This visit will take you to the main Halls of Residence at the Oadby Student Village, a 15 min bus ride from the main campus, and you will be able to view the social facilities and a typical student room. There is also a drop-in talk on student life taking place which you may wish to attend. The trip lasts approx. one and a half hours.

12.30pm Lunch and Department Visit
Back on campus, lunch will be available from a number of outlets, including Chi, Delic!ous, the Union diner, and the Library Café.
Following lunch, you will have the opportunity to find out more about studying Archaeology and Ancient History, and be able to ask questions of our students and the Admissions tutor.

3.15pm Visit Day ends

Saturday 25 February 2017 only:

9.15am Registration

1.15pm Visit to Oadby Student Village accommodation
This visit will take you to the main Halls of Residence at the Oadby Student Village, a 15 min bus ride from the main campus, and you will be able to view the social facilities and a typical student room. There is also a drop-in talk on student life taking place which you may wish to attend. The trip lasts approx. one and a half hours.

2.45pm Plenary 'Thank you for visiting' session
This will include a short presentation about the University of Leicester and give staff the opportunity to thank you for visiting.
