When you get here
You've made it to Leicester - get ready to start enjoying everything that the University and the city have to offer. Before you get too stuck into life at Leicester there are a few more formalities to finalise.
When you arrive at the University we're obliged to check your identity. To do this you'll need to produce some photo ID, such as a passport, to confirm your identity. Once this is done, we'll be able to issue your University ID card.
You'll get your University ID card once you've completed online registration and the identity check mentioned in the previous paragraph. To make sure that there aren't any delays in getting your card, please make sure that set up your account on MyStudentRecord and upload a photo by 5 September 2016.
On Tuesday 27 September new students are invited to a Matriculation ceremony at the nearby De Montfort Hall. This is an exciting event for us to welcome you to the start of your journey at the University.
Confirmation of registration letters and bank letters
We will provide you with letters confirming you are a registered student of the University. This is sometimes required by landlords for private rental agreement and by UK banks to open a bank account.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a registration and/or a bank letter.
Once you arrive in Leicester, you'll need to attend your departmental induction so that you get the essential information about your course, teaching and how your department works.
For students on most courses, your timetable will be made available to you through MyStudentRecord during the week beginning Monday 19 September 2016. Your department will tell you how to access your timetable if this is different.
