You will soon learn to find your way around, but for the first couple of weeks you may want to check a campus map.
In the first two weeks before term starts you can access the Library even if you don't have your University ID Card. Please speak to the person on reception and show them your University offer letter as proof that you are a student here. Check the Library website for opening times etc.
The Students' Union is housed in the Percy Gee Building and includes a shop, a restaurant, a bank and a crêpe van! The SU supports over 200 student societies that you can join and take part in. Their mission: "to ensure that your experience at the University of Leicester is the best it can possibly be. In fact, we want your experience to be exceptional."
Your user name (the first part of your University email address) and password will give you access to a wide range of IT services on and off campus. If you need help with anything relating to your IT account, you can visit the IT Service Desk on the ground floor of the Library.
Wherever you are on campus, good food at excellent prices is not far away. Our restaurants, coffee shops, bars and shops offer convenience, value for money and a friendly welcome. We provide a wide range of hot meals, snacks, takeaways and drinks at convenient locations throughout the campus. We are the first university in the UK to become coeliac accredited and our chefs are award-winning. You'll also have the convenience of being able to download an app and pay using your phone with our cashless catering system.
The University has two fabulous Sports Centres each with a pool, sauna, steam room, spa pool and extensive other indoor and outdoor facilities.
