The University of Leicester has a wide range of student accommodation. Every first year student has the option of taking a room in our accommodation provided they apply before 31 August for a September/October start.
We have choices of catered and self-catered, more traditional style halls and also studio flats. Bathrooms can be shared or en suite depending on your choice. The University accommodation is split between two sites: Oadby Student Village which is a short bus ride away from campus, and the City Living accommodation which is walking distance from campus.
If the University accommodation is not for you, the Students’ Union have an accommodation office to help with finding privately rented student accommodation. SULETS offers a fair and transparent service to all students, and there are no agency, registration or reservation fees to pay.
The University of Leicester has excellent transport links and we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint. As such there is no parking for students on campus. However, there are public transport options and provisions made for cyclists on campus.
Buses run from the city centre to the University then onto the Oadby Student Village every 10 minutes during term time. Arriva offer a year-long bus pass that is valid on the University bus and also on their other city services at a reasonable price.
The University Campus is a 15-minute walk from the railway station and 20-minute walk from the City Centre.
The University also has a bike park and is on a number of cycle routes.
