Early Arrivals and International Welcome Week

Our Early Arrivals and International Welcome Week for new students is held each September, just before the start of term, so that whenever you arrive you will have a warm welcome.

The programme gives you the opportunity to get to know the campus and the city, and to meet staff and other new students. Events are free – but make sure that you arrange and budget for your accommodation for the additional week that you are here.

The welcome programme will provide you with information about being a student in the UK as well as giving you the opportunity to meet other students. There will also be sessions to give advice and guidance over important issues such as health services, opening a UK bank account and getting part-time work. There are social events and trips to help you to make new friends. The programme is free, but you may need to pay a small fee for some events.

Students arriving in September 2017

We will be offering a free bus service from Heathrow Airport on 17 September 2017 for students arriving for the International Welcome Week. Please note that this provision is available for students who will be travelling alone. Luggage restrictions will apply and spaces on this bus service are limited. Bookings will open in August 2017.

Study Abroad and Erasmus student arrivals

If you are joining us for a year or semester as part of a Study Abroad or Erasmus programme please follow the guidance in your Joining Instructions booklet. A special Airport Bus Service will be available for you on Wednesday 20 September 2017.
