Student memberships and benefits

We have a wide range of membership options for students to get fit and active whilst studying at the University. Please see below the student membership prices for the 2023/24 academic year.

If you are looking to join a Team Leicester sports club, we recommend that you purchase the Student Gold Sports Centre membership as it provides you access to Team Leicester training and fixtures, as well as all the facilities and activities at both sports centres, and use of BUCS UNIversal.

Public memberships and benefits

Both the Roger Bettles Sports Centre (if you live within 1 mile) and Danielle Brown Sports Centre have opened their doors to public members. As a member of either state of the art facility, you can access our wide range of equipment and extensive facilities. Please note that parking restrictions apply at the Danielle Brown Sports Centre. You will only be able to access the one facility you join.

How can I pay for my gym membership?

Annual membership: If you wish to pay for your gym membership annually, you can pay via debit or credit card at the reception desk of your chosen centre. Please note we cannot accept American Express cards.

Direct debit: If you wish to pay by direct debit please bring with you proof of address (driving licence, bank statement, utility bill), one form of photo ID (driving licence, passport) and proof the bank account details you wish to pay by direct debit from are yours. This will need to have your name on as well as the account number and sort code (bank statement, debit card, mobile banking app, cheque book).

Staff memberships and benefits

We offer a number of different staff memberships, which include access to both of our sporting facilities.

Prices 

What does my Staff membership include?

If you have a partner or family member who would also like to join, staff are entitled to a plus one at the same rate!

Not always on campus? Why not try our Worksmart package? £45.00 for 10 sessions. You can purchase these at either reception and use them across both sites. Sessions last for 1 year from date of purchase, so you have full flexibility with how and when you use them!

Please note, WorkSmart users may not bring guests in with them nor can they have a plus one.

Pay As You Go (PAYG) is also available for staff:

PAYG at the Danielle Brown gives you access to: gym, swim, spa, and all classes.
PAYG at the Roger Bettles gives you access to: Studio 2 classes and courts (e.g. Badminton, Tennis, Table tennis, Basketball).

Associate memberships and benefits

Alumni memberships and benefits

Graduated from the University of Leicester? We offer our alumni the opportunity to access both of our sports facilities, with a few different membership types.

In order to access an alumni membership you must provide proof of alumni status in the form of your graduation certificate or an email confirmation from DARO, which can be obtained by emailing alumni.relations@le.ac.uk.
