The Sun, our neural connection
The Sun is the origin of the solar wind, which is the long network that connect all the bodies in the Solar System. In other words, the solar wind is to the planets the same that the neurons to our brain: the connection and communication system of the interplanetary medium. Despite each planet, moon, and comet have unique characteristics, most of the bodies react to the impact of the solar wind displaying spectacular auroras. At UoL we study the interaction of the solar wind with each planet, and develop new techniques to improve the Planetary Space Weather forecast.
